Overview

Based in Haddenham, reporting to the EMEA Supplier Quality director, you will beresponsible for the day to day management of European direct suppliers; raw materials and packaging. This involves the pro-active management of the categories of suppliers, the development and implementation of quality and performance Improvement programs, while supporting key initiatives of the activity involving new suppliers and new products. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The Supplier Quality Manager Ingredients and Packaging, for a list of suppliers, will have as main responsibilities: Vendor Auditing - Audit and inspect McCormick’s raw material and packaging vendors to assure their compliance with McCormick Quality Expectations and specifications. Ingredient & Packaging Category Management - Provide raw material and packaging expertise which includes pertinent performance and data analyses that ultimately supports the proactive category plan as define by the Supplier Quality Director. Work with the business units to resolve issues related to raw materials and packaging vendors. Vendor Management - Responsible for the management of an evolving Global Vendor Management Strategy to assure a continuous supply of safe, legal and specified materials. Effectively support key business initiatives such as cost reduction projects and new product development, ensuring quality from design and compliance right from the first deliveries. Be the business partner of the UK and Dubai factories, providing support and coordinating with the others supplier quality teams’ members. Travels are required (about a week per month) to meet with direct suppliers from all over Europe. CANDIDATE PROFILE Relevant food industry experience required; quality control function and in raw materials or related areas. Strong working knowledge of food processes, HACCP, risk management and sanitation ideally gained in a food manufacturing environment. Knowledge in food safety raw materials and quality systems programs throughout a range of industry areas. Experience in managing multi country vendors. Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills. Understanding of the commercial environment and customers' requirements and expectations. Good analytical skills. Fluent in English, French language and other European languages highly appreciated.
