Supplier Assurance Manager
Overview
Job Description
Primarily responsible for the assessment and performance management of the Suppliers to Nomad Foods so that the performance of the materials that they supply to sites is optimal. Also responsible for carrying out due diligence checks on the Suppliers and ensuring that the food safety status of Suppliers is well understood and any underperformance is managed. + Input to delivery of annual Nomad Foods Supplier technical visit /audit program by completion of assigned Supplier visits and audits + Input to delivery of agreed Supplier quality improvement plans and communication thereof by routine performance meetings with Suppliers and the generation of Supplier KPI reports + Technical input into selection of new Suppliers and materials including, conducting risk assessments, material sign-off, Self-audit questionnaire approval etc. + Input into the Supplier delisting process by assessment of data from the Supplier and updating Supplier Assurance records and risk assessments accordingly + Day to day liaison with Nomad Foods factories to provide a Supplier Assurance service: + Investigating Supplier issues as highlighted by Nomad factories, carrying out reactionary technical visits and meetings related to production issues with supplied material or material found to be out of specification on delivery + Progressing resulting supplier related complaints to conclusion with the Supplier, including feedback to Suppliers so that the root cause of issues is understood, and recurrence is prevented + Supporting the Nomad Foods sites in maintaining their GFSI status in the areas of Supplier Assurance and food fraud and authenticity management by demonstrating the Supplier Assurance procedures to external audit bodies Essential + Quality Control/Quality Audit/ R&D experience in a food manufacturing environment + Familiarity with GFSI Audit scheme + Some prior auditing experience + Working knowledge of HACCP + Demonstrable experience in checking or measurement roles - e.g. quality attribute, lab testing etc. + Basic understanding of food safety hazard analysis and risk assessment + Basic understanding of allergen management + Basic understanding of food microbiology and ability to interpret microbiological certificates of analysis + Basic understanding of sanitation practices and hygienic design + Ability to interpret traceability documentation + Basic understanding of complaint handling and issue resolution and root cause analysis + Competence in Microsoft Office + High energy and action orientated + Resilient, can challenge and be challenged + Detail conscious + Effective verbal and written communicator + Ability to operate in a matrix structure + Able to work to short timescale projects and processes. E.g. NPD launch Desirable + Food /Science degree or equivalent + Category specific expertise - e.g. dairy technology, meat technology. + Formal audit training + HACCP level 3 + Familiarity with database systems /specification management tools + Laboratory experience or specification writing experience + Experience in cleaning validation and verification + Experience in Supplier performance management + Formal allergen management training + Routinely conducts/reviews traceability data at own or supplying site + Familiar with ERP systems e.g. SAP + Presentation skills/experience ID: 2020-2583 Address Line 1: Whapload Road Post End Date: 21/06/2020
