Overview
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Events professional to join one of the UK’s leading independent technology and telecoms providers as their Corporate Events Manager. Job Purpose In this central marketing role, you’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering two or three national/corporate events each year, managing exhibitor/speaker presence at a similar number of large trade shows/exhibitions and managing the ongoing engagement stream for strategic partner and supplier programmes. The role will draw on your strategic event planning capability - helping to shape agendas, formats and messaging as well as offering the satisfaction of hands-on delivery and overseeing how it all comes together on the day, including managing those who will assist you. You will also bring your event expertise to bear by scoping and developing an event framework for the business to ensure that events outside your own direct management are delivered professionally and to a consistently high standard. Key Responsibilities: • Budget for, capture and advise on initial event requirements (space, timing, location, audience type/size) • Work with stakeholders to agree a compelling and achievable agenda and messaging that meets objectives and will maximise attendance of the target audience • Identify collateral, venue branding and messaging requirements and work with the team to develop as needed • Liaise with venues to optimise space and facilities and brief in signage, branding, AV and catering requirements • Support the management of external keynote/expert and internal speakers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality content/presentation • Own the end to end event engagement process - from initial invitations, event reminders, attendance tracking, joining information and post event comms and measurement • Oversee event logistics/set up/staff briefings and oversee on the day delivery Industry events/exhibitions/sponsorships • Budget for and manage attendance at 2-3 national trade events & exhibitions each year • Identify and manage through worthwhile higher-level sponsorship opportunities, including those associated with award entries / industry bodies • Secure well-positioned speaking slots and negotiate packages / passes for key events • Work with the wider team to ensure appropriate collateral / messaging is developed • Oversee timely delivery of materials, boilerplates/logos, adverts and stands • Ensure attending staff are well briefed and that rotas are in place as appropriate • Own post-event measurement and recommendations Knowledge & Experience Essential • A minimum of 5 years end-to-end event management/delivery in a B2B marketing environment - ranging from small trade events/dinners/webinars to larger stands/exhibits and company owned events • Experience working with senior stakeholders to shape and deliver objective-based event agendas • Solid copywriting and 'event message’ development skills, evidenced through high quality event communications, briefing and support materials (agenda, joining information, feedback surveys etc) and stand branding • Experience running sustained marketing engagement programmes in a B2B environment • Experience setting and managing budgets for events and programmes. Desirable • Direct experience of marketing and engagement within the public sector, tech or telecoms industry • Knowledge of connectivity-enabled innovation and interest in emerging 'smart’ technology • Experience identifying, evaluating and negotiating for external keynote speakers.
