P37029 Senior Building Surveyor Campus Infrastructure and Operational Support Services The University of Exeter is seeking to recruit a part time (0.6 FTE, 21.9 hrs per wk) Chartered Building Surveyor with significant and demonstrable post-qualification experience to act as a senior building surveyor and undertake the delivery of complex projects, leading multi-disciplinary teams, in Estate Services. The position will involve project management, design, supervision and contract administration of variably sized refurbishment and alteration projects with values ranging from 25k - 5million pounds. A wide variety of workload can be guaranteed and the role will suit an enthusiastic surveyor who wishes to pursue a career in a client organisation. Estate Services also has significant responsibilities for organising planned maintenance to the estate. You will be expected to advise on technical matters, deal with general estate issues relating to such planned and reactive maintenance and become involved with the update of the QA system. Candidates will be expected to be MRICS or MCIOB and experience in a similarly large and complex client organisation would be a significant advantage. You must also be able to demonstrate previous experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams, together with previous reactive maintenance works. Remuneration will be competitive within the market and commensurate with qualifications and experience. You will be required to take responsibility for other members of the surveying team, such as junior surveyors or clerks of works and must be able to work under his/her own initiative. Based on the Streatham Campus, this post offers the opportunity for you to build upon existing surveying and management skills. The starting salary will be from £44,045 up to £59,135 on Grade G depending on qualifications and experience.
