Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join a niche manufacturer as the Product Procurement and Pricing Specialist to manage sourcing of raw materials from worldwide suppliers, maintain the supply chain and keep abreast of the environmental changes affecting the markets. The successful candidate will manage supplier relationships, improve or maintain margins on products in addition to building strong internal relationships with the Head of Sales, Operations Manager and Production Planning. Principal Responsibilities: Working with the sales team to strategically source products to client specifications from UK and overseas markets. Raise purchase orders and expedite deliveries to ensure that lead-times are met and continuity of supply is maintained. Ensuring that product cost targets are achieved and inventory levels are managed to support customer requirements, whilst preventing the accumulation of excess stock. To identify and suggest appropriate new products in line with corporate focus and strategy and NPD direction. Identifying solutions to client back orders. Participation in selection and qualification of new vendors into the supply chain. To accurately input and upkeep costings and Bills of Material data using our in-house system (Focus); including information relating to products, suppliers, licences, quotations and supplier complaints. The Candidate: Minimum of three years' international sourcing and procurement experience Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills Leaderships skills to manage 1 direct report Speed and efficiency with ability to multi-task effectively in a high-pressure and time-sensitive environment Effective negotiation skills and commercially driven Highly IT literate (Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook) including experience of procurement/order and inventory management software Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Team player - ability to work well with sales team and other internal stakeholders Recruiting a similar role?
