Production Engineer / CADCAM Programmer Bedford, Bedfordshire £35,000 - £40,000 Company Profile A company with a very strong and long history in developing and manufacturing their own products is looking to expand due to growth and recent investment. Job Profile As the successful Production Engineer / CADCAM Programmer, your main responsibility will be to maintain a supply of generated CADCAM / CNC programs and equipment necessary to achieve an efficient production process. You will be working within an ISO 9001 environment providing an effective service to manufacturing on production and handling methods. Duties · CADCAM Programming – using Siemens NX (training on the software can be provided if needed) · Creating programmes for both the Milling & Turning sections · Provide and set standards for direct labour times · Overseeing the Production Engineering department - 2 other production engineers in the office · Determine all manufacturing methods of new products together with the individual operational standard time · Produce and amend programs for all CNC machines using CAM systems and produce associated set-up sheets and tooling lists · Examine new machine tools, cutting tools and associated media and processes through journals, visiting other users and attending exhibitions · Investigate and prepare justification for capital equipment · Selection and co-ordination of suitable sub-contract sources, with accountability for quality, price and delivery · Train and assist engineers and other employees such as operators and apprentices · Be involved in cross-functional project teams in improving the efficiency of the manufacturing process · Examine other activities within production and to recommend changes for improved productivity · Lead the introduction of new machine tools, providing support to the shop floor during the initial periods · Design jigs, fixtures and tooling equipment necessary for production Skills & Experience ·Excellent knowledge and understanding of CNC machining · Competent in programming CNC machine tools, using CAM · Siemens NX experience would be an advantage but not essential · Experience of process planning products through the manufacturing processes · HNC in Production Engineering preferred Hours & Benefits · 37hrs · 08.00 – 16.30 Monday to Friday · Excellent package Key Skills CNC, Machining, Machinist, CADCAM, CAM, Offline, Siemens NX, Program, Programmer, Programming, Precision Engineer, Precision Engineering, Production Engineer, Production Engineering, Component Manufacture, Component Manufacturing, Machine Tools, Tooling, Machine Shop, Process Planning, ISO 9001, Mill, Milling, Lathe, Turn, Turning, Jigs, Fixtures This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89632700
