Overview

Our client who is a leader in their field is currently seeking an experienced European Sales Manager to join their team. In this role you will be working with existing global clients and responsible for securing new long term contracts. Our client specialises in providing technical products and services to the marine market. The markets they support include new ship build, repairs, maintenance and consumables. You will oversee the commercial growth within the UK and European territories. Head office is based in Hampshire, however, you will be given a lot of autonomy with this role and a lot of work would be conducted remotely, so you could be based anywhere in Europe. The Role This is a very varied and interesting Sales Manager role where you will be responsible for the overall sales process, including contribution to marketing plans, strategic planning and process. You will be working closely with some of the world’s largest ship builders, shipyards and ship management companies as well as local and regional businesses. You will be required to maintain these working relationships whilst identifying and winning contracts within new markets through, bid writing, tendering and building an in depth knowledge of the technology and its applications, plus continuously develop products/services. You will be required to develop sales strategies based on the growth plans for the company and make sure the required targets are met. The Ideal Candidate To be considered for this role you will need to have a strong European contact network in shipyards, ship builders, repair/retrofit companies, ship owners/management companies or similar. You will need to have a proven track record growing commercial markets within the marine sector. You should be able to multi-task and be comfortable analyzing technical specifications and drawings. You will need to have the ability to work in high pressured environment as well as good customer/supplier relationship management skills. You will have demonstrated business expertise in writing proposals, contract negotiations and risk management for projects as well as excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
