Job Description
Description Inpher is hiring a Director of Business Development based in London specifically focused on capital markets applications of our secret computing technology. This role is for an individual contributor who will be responsible for cultivating the development and growth of a London office over time. You're a fit at Inpher if you're naturally curious and eager to learn and energized to explain how unanswered data security and analytical challenges across industries can be addressed with a unique solution. You will work closely with Inphers VP of BD and expanding management team to develop new business, articulate optimal markets, and build go-to-market strategies that expand Inphers leading position in the emerging category of Secret Computing. Our environment is open, supportive, and evaluative; you must be able to give and receive candid feedback, think quickly, and act intentionally. Prior experience in financial services, financial technology, consulting, software sales, enterprise business development, and specifically deep experience in data science & analytics is required. Backgrounds in mathematics, cybersecurity, or data privacy is a plus. What You Will Do * Customers, Partners, and Product * Cultivate new customer relationships and close deals with mutual value. Emphasis initially will primarily be on capital markets applications and adjacent business units within global financial services companies. * Identify and develop emerging use case examples to new business units within current customer base in London. * Expand current customer engagements and provide constructive feedback to the product team. * Develop a keen intuition for Inpher product(s) and earn the respect of technical stakeholders. * Identify and engage strategic partners that balance tactical opportunities with long term value. * Market Development * Conduct and report on market and competitive ecosystem research; AI, ML, Predictive Analytics, Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, etc., are your intellectual playground. * Identify trends in the capital markets, including potential regulatory mandates, where Inphers technology may be applicable. * Quantify markets, articulate their segmentation, and contribute to campaigns and distribution. * Develop GTM strategies that map industry needs, product capabilities, and company resources. * Thought Leadership * Be smart, be visible; engage in community, conferences, and vectors that enable us to listen and speak. * Contribute to company and partner blogs. * Be a domain expert on the capital markets and asset management where your thought leadership will attract industry stakeholders interested in learning more about privacy preserving techniques. * Company Leadership * Act as a steward of your values and ambassador of the company brand. * Plot a roadmap for what a London-based Inpher office would look like in terms of growth, headcount and culture. Requirements What You Have Done * 10+ years of work experience on (a) highly effective BD team(s) in fast-paced environments as either an individual contributor, manager, or both. * Previous experience working for an early stage startup is a plus. * Demonstrated experience developing products or solutions in collaboration with capital markets business units and/or hedge funds or asset managers. * Ability to connect-the-dots internally at banks to build a consortium of stakeholders (technical, business owner, champion/sponsor) to secure a buying decision. * Understanding of the life cycle of a trade and market micro-structure, along with electronic trading and related platforms/securities exchanges. * Corroborated history of direct B2B enterprise sales and market development with strong network presence. The successful candidate will have existing relationships at banks where they can "open doors without knocking." * Organized, thoughtful, and execution-oriented. * Passionate technophile who is willing to experiment with new products and business models. * Ability to define and execute on a sales strategy within desired markets. * Familiarity with Salesforce and general sales operations best practices. * Ability to work from London, but travel to Inpher's New York and Lausanne offices periodically throughout the fiscal quarter. * Flexibility to work from Inpher offices initially for the first several weeks of employment during onboarding.
