Overview

This is an overview of the role: Government has provided a £200m grant fund to remediate private sector residential blocks with ACM cladding (the ‘Fund’). This mirrors the arrangements for funding in the social sector although it has additional complexities and an additional focus in some key areas. The Homes England Building Remediation Team operates the social and private sector Funds outside London, for MHCLG. As the Building Remediation Analyst you will support the successful operation and delivery of the Fund on a day to day basis necessitating close working and an effective relationship with MHCLG, grant applicants and professional advisers who support the diligence and contracting requirements of the Fund. You will manage the MI requirements of the Fund and lead on the maintenance and updating of the application portal. You will contribute to internal reporting and briefings and will need to liaise with a range of Homes England staff accordingly. You will have a lead role in managing the payments and contracting processes. The successful person will be responsible for: • The Fund currently has a high profile politically and a high degree of sensitivity. We are looking therefore for someone who has been involved with high profile projects and/or programmes. Knowledge of construction projects and developers and contractors will be an advantage. • Effective member of a delivery team including external technical specialists responsible for contracting and diligence. • To work collaboratively across teams and undertake work as necessary to fulfil the objectives of Homes England. • Programme/project management experience. • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the wider Government housing agenda In order to complete the responsibilities for this role, the successful candidate will have: • Higher education or professional qualification with experience in using relevant software systems. • Experience in programme and project management or project support role with an ability to work to tight deadlines. • Strong organisational skills and be process driven. • Collaborative Values - working with colleagues at the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government to ensure the programme is meeting strategic and commercial objectives. • Commercial Values - Supporting programme lead at Homes England as part of programme governance both internally and externally (MHCLG).
