Housing Advocacy and Sustainment WorkerLondon, SE1Up to £28,000 per annumWe are Safer London, the leading London charity working to prevent and address gang violence, vulnerability and exploitation amongst young people. We were born in 2005, set up with a grant from the Metropolitan Police Authority to support young people at risk of crime.At Safer London, we believe every young person should be able to live free from exposure to gangs, exploitation and crime and we put this into action by reaching out to London’s most vulnerable and exploited young people to prevent them from slipping through the net.Are you an experienced practitioner with a track record of supporting young people in a housing context who are affected by violence, exploitation or both?We are looking for a Housing Advocacy and Sustainment Worker to provide advice and advocacy to young people supported by Safer London.This role offers an exciting opportunity to help young people increase their awareness of accommodation availability and improve housing access.Amongst your core responsibilities, you will:- Manage a caseload of young people in need of housing- Advocate on behalf of young people where necessary with other organisations to ensure services are fulfilling their duties in relation to their housing needs- Offer advice appointments at appropriate venues- Work closely with, and provide regular updates to, Caseworkers- Assess, monitor and review the young person’s needs and risks and provide appropriate support to them- Attend multi-agency meetings- Complete action plan reviews- Record cases and update them regularlyIf you are flexible, innovative and passionate about your work, then we want to hear from you.Safer London values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination.
