Essentia is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and is the in-house team responsible for non-clinical healthcare services. Essentia designs, builds and maintains healthcare infrastructure vital to the smooth running of healthcare services. This encompasses everything from construction projects and healthcare planning to waste management, housekeeping, transport and security. Essentia employs around 1,700 people, who provide essential facilities management support to clinical teams. The role of Director of Performance & Improvement is key to achieving Essentia’s strategic ambitions and an influential part of the Essentia senior leadership team, with specific remit for ensuring effective performance with a focus on continuous improvement to drive quality and efficiency across all Essentia activities. Reporting to the Director of Essentia and working closely alongside the Director of Operations, the Director of Performance & Improvement leads the effective operational performance management of Essentia, will ensure that new performance measures are embedded into everyday working and provides assurance within Essentia to the GSTT Trust board and executive team, and to the boards/executive teams of external partner Trusts. We are seeking an individual with a proven track record and passion for leading and managing change to improve performance against KPIs in a large, complex organisation. You will have demonstrable experience of formulating long term, organisation-wide strategic plans and a highly developed understanding in the management of operational systems together with experience of managing data and reporting within a complex environment.
