Director

Armenian Insititute ,
London, Greater London
Salary: £41,500 per year pro-rata

Overview

The Armenian Institute is dedicated to making Armenian culture and history a living experience through innovative programmes and educational resources. We are at an exciting juncture in our history. About to move into new premises, we have also received a significant National Lottery Heritage Fund grant designed to enable organisational development and resilience-building, alongside a programme of cultural and heritage activities. We are seeking to recruit to the post of Director a person who will undertake and oversee the strategic development of the Armenian Institute in the next stage. The ideal candidate will bring strategic and sector knowledge of fundraising, leadership, and organisational development, and will be able to take forward the Institute’s vision of its role enabling community-building and reaching out to build links across communities. They would also be able to demonstrate a knowledge of and appreciation of Armenian culture, history, and language. The post is designed for 4 days a week at £41,500 pro rata for a 30-month period, to be reviewed after the initial 6 months. The new office space is on Saffron Hill, EC1. We want to hear from all interested candidates.  Please download the Job Description and Person Specification from our website and submit your CV and a detailed covering letter outlining why you are right for the role. All applications and supporting documents should be sent to Armenian Institute. Any questions about the role should be directed to the Chair of Trustees, via the same email address. Those candidates selected for the next stage will be interviewed in April. Please note that we are aware there may be excellent candidates whose skills and knowledge cover part of this job description but not both the Armenian experience and cultural knowledge, and the organisational development and monitoring skills needed.  If a candidate who can cover both is not found, we will consider splitting the work so that it becomes a job-share.  Thus, if this describes your situation, do send in your application to be considered.  Deadline for submissions:  March 31
