Overview
Telesales (OTE £30,000) SALARY: £18,000 - £20,000 JOB DESCRIPTION The primary role of this position is to generate sales for a new IT managed service my client are launching. You will be expected to make a set number of calls per day prospecting for new customers, generating meetings and quote requests for the sales team. In busy periods you may also be required to provide sales support, playing a key role in developing and supporting sales and the sales cycle by updating customer prospects, helping with customer quotations across a range of vendors and various other administration tasks. Duties will include but are not restricted to the following: Contact potential or existing customers to inform them about a product or service Answer questions about products or the company Ask questions to understand customer requirements and close sales Direct prospects to the field sales team when needed Enter and update customer information in the database Go the "extra mile" to meet sales quota and facilitate future sales Keep records of calls and sales and note useful information Liaising with suppliers to request quotations and then generating quotations for customers on behalf of sales account managers In conjunction with technical support internally and at our suppliers to validate all quotes technically Up sell and cross sell solutions Help with internal contract documentation and monitor contract renewal dates. PERSON SPECIFICATION The ideal candidate will have the following skills, attributes and experience: Team player Knowledge of IT industry a bonus, not essential Knowledge of sales processes including importance of margin retention Highly motivated and able to work under his or her own initiative Ability to prioritise work-load and work methodically Intelligent and keen to learn new skills Ability to be able to work under pressure Outstanding negotiation skills with the ability to resolve issues Cool-tempered and able to handle rejection Desire to provide a good customer service Effective communicator HOURS OF WORK The company’s standard hours of work are 9.00am - 5.30 pm with one hour for lunch, you may be required to work longer hours during peak times.
