Overview
Property Services Assistant required by a Housing Association in Belfast on a temporary basis for 2-3 months Your new company The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a Housing Association based in Belfast, to recruit a Property Services Assistant on a temporary basis for an initial period of 2-3 months with the possibility of further extension. Your new role Reporting to the Senior Property Services Officer, you will assist in the delivery of an effective response, planned and cyclical maintenance service. This will involve: Provide cover for the Property Services Department and deal with all defect and repair requests; Deal with incoming telephone calls / written correspondence regarding repairs / defects; Be the first point of contact for tenants reporting defects and repairs; Receive, process, allocate and monitor responsive works orders on a day to day basis through the Association's measured term and other contracts; Advise tenants of the category of the repair/defect and when they can expect it to be made good; Prepare and issue Works Orders in accordance with the Association's procedures; Chase contractors to ensure defects/repairs are completed within their timescale; Record when repairs / defects are completed; Record cost of repairs /invoices against works orders on a weekly basis; Update a spreadsheet of the weekly number of repairs/defects processed for the Property Services Manager. What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this position, you should possess: A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar role and 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) including Mathematics and English or 5 years' experience in a similar role; Complete proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ideally, you will possess: An HNC or equivalent in a building construction or estate management discipline; A working knowledge of technical and financial issues in relation to building maintenance; Previous experience of working in a property / housing environment.
