Overview
This is an excellent opportunity with a well-established company within the construction industry. They design and manufacture a range of both interior and exterior building products that are used in commercial, industrial and residential buildings. These products are frequently sold through building merchants, construction product wholesalers and retailers. The Sales Merchandiser position is field based and would ideally suit someone living in the South of England or Home Counties. The main aim of the role is to promote the company’s products to, and develop an ongoing relationship with, their clients in their retail outlets across the South of England. Key responsibilities may include - To make regular visits to the customer’s commercial/retail premises across the region To forge and develop relationships with in-store personnel and management To promote the company’s products and provide product training to staff members To make sure that point of sale promotional literature and signage is maintained effectively To work to KPIS and targets To provide feedback and analysis to the company management Suitable candidates should be able to demonstrate a track record of success within sales/customer service. A background within field sales or merchandising would be highly advantageous. Experience of building products would be beneficial, although full product training will be provided for the successful applicant. A good knowledge of IT including Word and Excel is important. The key attributes required for the role are exceptional communication skills; the ability to work in a structured manner with minimal supervision and a target focused attitude. The role requires considerable and frequent travel across the region by car including some overnight stops. The company would also hope to include the successful applicant in trade shows and exhibitions.
