Overview

The Company: The company manufacturer sells and services "end of line" packaging solutions supplying both the machinery and the consumables. Job Title: New Business Telesales Job Purpose: To generate and secure sales within the UK & Ireland region to achieve agreed objectives for sales margin, sales volume for wrapping & strapping consumables to grow our UK presence Key Responsibilities: Maintain a high level of knowledge on the company plastic product range. Manage your assigned accounts to ensure both regional sales and profit targets are achieved and exceeded. Pro-actively develop existing accounts seeking and taking opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell across the product portfolio. Keep customers advised of any changes relevant to them in terms of price, product or service. Proactively telephone both new and existing customers to gain sales growth. Regularly call to gain orders and cross and up-sell where possible, especially as new products are introduced. Plan manage and control sales development to achieve agreed sales margin, sales volume and product mix objectives. Handle incoming enquiries from both existing and new customers (price enquiries, product information, specifications etc.) Research the markets for new potential customers through tele-marketing. Liaise and work with the external sales team to ensure all opportunities are dealt with efficiently positively making appointments where required. Produce customer quotations within their guidelines fully reflecting customers’ requests and product benefits to optimise the chance of new business. Update and generate information on competitors, sales potential and markets. Generate good quality leads through pro-active tele-marketing. Generate sales leads for internal and external use through all avenues - industry, trade, google, publications etc. Ensure knowledge and proficiency within the business computer systems. Enter customer orders accurately and in a timely fashion. Assist the Customer Service team as and when required. The main duties portrayed are intended to be indicative only in achieving the overall objective of meeting the Company’s sales strategy and to increase profitability and are in no way intended to be restrictive. In addition to being responsible for the sale of the Company’s products within the assigned industries/market sectors to achieve/over achieve the specific industry’s share of sales, the job holder will be required to exercise exceptional customer relations skills by gathering information on a monthly basis and summarising and reporting that information verbally and in written form to the UK Sales Director and where necessary plan corrective action. The areas to be covered will include the following: Weekly/monthly planning of calls Forecasting - 3 months ahead and year end by industry Sales - consumable sales, type and value Sales - Hand tools, type and value Sales - machines, type and value (semi-automatic etc.) New business achievements by product (machines, rentals, consumables etc.) Pipeline -status of top twenty live/new business prospects Business losses, negotiations, major attainable prospects Supply/service problems Competitor activity Required Experience: A proven track record in customer management. Experience of serving customers in a diverse range of market sectors. The ability to discover and advise/discuss potential solutions to technical problems facing the customer both with the customer and internally. New Business development with prospective customer companies within diverse market segments. Maintaining excellent customer service, forecasting and planning. Proven new business winner, innovative and resourceful. Commercial awareness and strong negotiation skills. Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail. Flexible, a proven winner and a team player. Salary: Up to £24,000pa depending on experience plus bonus up to £6k p.a.
