Overview

We are looking for a talented and passionate technical artist to join us in our Bristol based studio, building internal art processes and guiding asset pipeline implementation in collaboration with the art and programming teams. Successful applicants must have experience working on prior shipped projects and a knowledge of art creation pipelines, asset exporting, process automation and relevant industry tools. Note that this is for a permanent position in Bristol, UK, please only apply if you are from within the area or happy to relocate. Visa sponsorship and relocation packages are available for the right candidate. Responsibilities Work closely with the Lead Artist and Technical Lead to define and maintain art workflows. Clearly communicate and document art production pipelines. Shader/Materials research and development. Creation of effects and particle systems Provide guidance to artists encouraging best working practices and strong asset organisation. Proactively provide suggestions on how to utilise new technologies and tools and implement them into our workflow. Liaise with technical team to troubleshoot issues and find solutions. Provide clear guidance on performance constraints and help define asset budgets.   Requirements Strong knowledge of game engines and the technical constraints and challenges of game development. Experience with Unreal Engine Strong technical understanding of art pipelines, memory and rendering budgets. Strong communication skills, and comfortable working across multiple teams. Knowledge of at least one programming language (such as Python, C++). Strong interest in the latest advancements in video game graphics and visual trends. Previous experience in the games industry.   Desirable: Advanced knowledge/experience developing games with Unreal Strong familiarity with Unreal 4 toolchains. C++ experience.
