The Role Reporting to the Group MD, this is a new and significant role within the company offering a fantastic opportunity to join a well-respected business. We are looking for a highly experienced Sales/ Commercial director with an accomplished track record of generating sustainable revenue, profit and business growth. They must have extensive experience in high level business strategy design, implementation and delivery with full P&L accountability. Must be extremely driven and possess entrepreneurial skills with a commercial mind set of expansion, together with expertise in building strategic and collaborative customer partnership to unlock market opportunities across multiple trading channels. The Sales/ Commercial Director will assume overall responsibility for the Sales team and all marketing functions. The key focus will be to create a sales and marketing strategy for prospective customers, lapsed/declining customers and to develop sales within our existing core client base which comprises of several routes to market including Foodservice, Wholesale channel, Export and Multiple Grocers e.g. Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, Waitrose etc. Essential skills: 5 years’ experience at Sales or Commercial director level The role is based at Nottingham head office, so candidates need to be within commutable distance. A deep understanding and proven track record in successfully managing National Accounts (Multiple Grocers) and promoted to a Controller or Director level within a medium to large FMCG business. Strong experience in P&L management. The ambitious candidate will be experienced in directly managing a field sales team. You will have excellent verbal and written communication as well as a pro-active and creative approach to problem solving. Ability to multi-task, combining strategy and execution whilst consistently displaying inspiring leadership qualities. Commercially astute, customer focused with drive and ambition. Ability to prioritise, demonstrating first class organisational and time management skills. Must be number-oriented with strong math skills and well-developed business senses. Tenacious and results driven with sound business judgement. Passionate about achieving high levels of excellence with proven strategic aptitude and ability. Confidence working as part of a team and independently. Proficient in all Microsoft packages with strong system skills.
