Overview

Our client is a privately-owned business based in Manchester looking for a Technical Sales Manager to drive their UVU product. UVU are metal steel fabricated, branded enclosures/casings which are sold into the retail, hospitality, construction, healthcare, rail and aviation market. Currently, they sell this product via distributors and are looking to increase the revenue from this stream as well as go direct to organisations to increase revenue. We are therefore looking for a Technical minded Sales Manager who can sell a product through a consultative sales process. Ideally, this will suit someone who has sold off the shelf product as well as bespoke solutions. With their own in-house signage/enclosure manufacturer, they have the expertise to create and design specific enclosures to meet the needs of the client; no matter of the size, shape, colour or brand. Products are also manufactured to the highest quality to sustain any environmental issues as they could be situated outside and therefore considerations for waterproofing, heatproofing is required. They are going through an exciting period of growth and as such, they are looking to add a Technical Sales Manager to the team to drive sales and help to grow the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong consultative sales professional, ideally with an engineering/technical background, to join an innovative and successful business and support them in driving the growth strategy. About our client: Our clients are experts in bringing brands to life on screen. Using only the latest digital signage and communications solutions, they’ve been transforming audience engagement for over 20 years. From internal communication displayed in reception areas to visual display screens advertising the latest cinema releases, they can offer a complete solution to overcome any communication issue or simply improve and create clearer and more effective communication. This product is something that used to be sold as part of their standard offer and is now being offered as a standalone product in the market. The role: £40,000 basic salary & car allowance £75,000 OTE Reporting to the Sales Director, the newly appointed Technical Sales Manager will have responsibility for driving growth through existing and new relationships. Bringing with them an engineering/Technical background, they will have the ingenuity to create bespoke solutions based on the customer requirements. Leading with a hands-on approach the sales activity required to grow the brand from a standing start. Use of CRM, sales process and building compelling pipelines to aid forecasting. Experience of selling one off product as well as multi product commercial deals. Using market expertise, industry knowledge and networking, continuously identify new business opportunities. Being consultative with the client to offer technical advice to the clients to ensure the correct product is chosen Manage sales through several channels; distributor, direct, resellers and website Generate leads and act as an ambassador for the business by attending networking events, expos etc Maintain close relationships with the manufacturer to enable customer success and growth Work collaboratively with the other Business Development Manager’s to provide and obtain leads Work closely with the Marketing Manager to produce collateral and obtain leads from the website The Candidate Key skills and experience required will include; Come from an engineering/technical background or be used to selling a technical product Start-up mentality with year on year growth focus Exposure to CAD drawings Ability to work autonomously, identifying customers and potential new business Ability to engage with people of different levels; understand the jargon, manage resellers and manager clients directly Strong relationship builder with internal teams and external stakeholders Proven experience of different sales tactics, including cold calling and attending networking events Desire to learn and build a depth of knowledge around the product/its market Take complete ownership of the end to end sales process Able to work alone as well as liaising with other BDMs Alternative job titles: Business Development Manager, Solutions Sales, Technical Sales, Sales Engineer, Sales Manager, By proceeding with this application, you are consenting to Rowan Recruitment Limited’s collection of your personal information and handling of that information.
