Our client is a market leading business, well known within their chosen sector for leading the way in product innovation and winning multiple awards for doing so. They are now recruiting an experienced Area Sales Manager to join their well-established team, covering the Northern territory and selling construction-led products into relevant Merchants/Buying Groups. Having been established for more than 40 years, this business has grown rapidly, now selling their products in more than 20 countries across the globe. Now employing close to 200 people in the UK and continually growing their product range, our client continues to hold the monopoly over their competitors within their market sector. What the Area Sales Manager role involves ; The successful Area Sales Manager will be responsible for promoting and selling one of our client’s key brands in the product range, with the overall aim of increasing new sales revenue within your specified territory. You will be targeting Builders Merchants and Buying Groups within the Construction sector to build optimum brand exposure of the range of products which includes ; bedding, priming and jointing materials, stone adhesives and related mortar based products. This is a field based role with extensive travel across the North of England, and you will need to manage your diary accordingly to maximise efficiency (ideal base would be Manchester/Liverpool). You will be given a range of existing client accounts to manage and maximise as well as being tasked with finding new accounts. The role will include: Maximising account spend by actively promoting all product ranges Educating Merchants and key staff on the technical application of products Managing customer complaints Coordinating product testing and site visits where relevant Tracking an analysing buying trends What can our client offer you? You will need to live 'on patch'within the North of England (ideally within the Manchester/Liverpool area.) Knowledge of the construction sector Experience of selling to Building Merchants or Buying Groups, with the ability to grow that network quickly Proven experience of developing and managing accounts Capable of meeting KPI’s and hitting sales targets Strong knowledge of selling technical products Capable of managing long sales cycles Excellent time-management skills; you will be managing multiple projects simultaneously Ideally you will have knowledge of working to ISO9001/9000 guidelines/standards Well-honed Relationship Management skills This is an incredible opportunity to join a genuine market leader in their field, at what is an exciting time in the company’s development.
