About you As the Yard Supervisor , you'll be the first line supervision to all Operational Staff and 3rd Party Suppliers onsite at our Ambergate, Pipeline Maintenance Centre (PMC) depot. You'll ensure full compliance to Health, Safety and Environment, driving customer efficiency. We are looking for an Yard Supervisor, who will... * Supervise operational activities to ensure strict compliance with PMC's end to end process for the activities and strict compliance with all control documentation. * Assist in the planning process, providing monitoring and supervision during the operations phase. Key Accountabilities * Drive teams to focus on productivity to specified quality standards and customer requirements. * Supervise 3rd party contractor/suppliers to ensure strict compliance with PMC's processes for activities. * Ensure all external stored stock is managed in accordance with the PMC stock process. * Understand safety management systems and how they apply to planning work, setting to work, monitoring and control of work and compliance and quality assurance. This role will be based out of our Ambergate, PMC depot. However ocassional travel would be expected allowing you to visit stakeholderswhen required. Skills & experience required * Demonstrate a good technical and engineering knowledge of the operational activities, tools, techniques. * Strong practical experience of Risk Management and the tools available to ensure work takes place safely, including effective site specific risk assessment, tool box talks, communication of control documentation and RAMS. Setting to work, monitoring and supervision of operational activities and quality assurance * Knowledge of appropriate legislation, policy and procedures. * An understanding of Lean work delivery principles. * Experience of managing people in a dynamic delivery environment. Qualifications * IOSH managing safely * Valid driver's licence * HNC/ONC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline - preferred Our values and principles Every day at National Grid, through listening to what our customers need, we do the right thing and find a better way.
