Job purpose: In your role you will support the Hub, Systems and Yard Controller with the management and monitoring of the Inbound and Outbound Functions using the Sorter system. You will support the Hub, Systems & Yard Controller on all aspects of inbound and outbound operational management including the relevant training of Warehouse Operatives and Team Leaders. About the Role: Whilst on shift you will be responsible for inbound and outbound operations including throughputs, parcel presentation, productivity levels and achievement of forecasted CPU against budgeted targets. You must be comfortable analysing data and creating reports on required aspects of the business whilst responding and resolving any queries from Client Managers. You will support with the management of the Inbound and Outbound Gatehouse's including any relevant queries from Shunters and Gatehouse Co-ordinators. Before the end of your shift, you will ensure that all required reporting documentation is maintained and delivered to the required standard and timescales including hourly reports to the business. This is a night shift based position and you will work 22:00 - 06:30 This role will also include working 1 in 3 weekends . Experience/Qualifications: * Logistics distribution * Excel intermediate level * Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment * Be able to use internal systems and equipment * Give clear and concise instructions * Assertive Responsibilities: * With the support of the Hub, Systems & Yard Controller you are responsible for all H&S, hygiene and quality audits including risk assessments and safe systems of work in your areas whilst on shift * Promoting and driving consistency to ensure the delivery of excellent Control Room standards * Lead by example in creating a high-performance people orientated culture within the Control Room that thinks inside the box * Whilst on shift you will be responsible for managing the Trunk Despatch board and trailer close-down times * Completing trailer details and ensuring sorter item count is reflected on manifests for each depart load * Supporting with the management of the Outbound Gatehouse including any relevant queries * Ensuring that all required reporting documentation is maintained and delivered to the required standard and timescales * Supporting with the training of all outbound processes on YMS to Warehouse Operatives and Section leaders * Ensuring the trunk despatch board matches the Section leaders' boards to ensure consistency. * Ensuring investigations are undertaken and concluded for missed parcels * Ensuring the correct chutes are active on the sorter system and taking appropriate action should they not be * With the support of the Hub, Systems & Yard Controller you are responsible for all H&S, hygiene and quality audits including risk assessments and safe systems of work in your areas whilst on shift Benefits: * Bonus * 26 Days Holiday entitlement + Bank Holidays * Opt in benefits "To all recruitment agencies: Hermes does not accept agency resumes.
