The Disabilities Trust is hiring! We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join us on a part-time permanent basis at one of our community houses in Kippax, Leeds. In this community home we provide a high-quality 24-hour support service to 6 people who live in this property. Our aim is to support service users to live the lifestyle of their choice and promote independence, focussing on their individual goals and aspirations. We are seeking a special person who is committed to assist the service in delivering quality person-centred support. As a member of our Support Worker Team, you would work 21hrs per week. This would be on a rotating six-week shift pattern covering early, late, evening and night shifts. The person we are looking for needs to be an enthusiastic, motivated and caring individual who has the skills to communicate effectively. Main duties will include : * Establish and maintain professional working relationships with the service users, contributing to the creation of a homely and pleasant living environment for each service user. * Participate in the development of service user/s support plans, risk assessments and programmes, complete written records as necessary and in accordance with the guidelines provided. * Providing care and support for our service users when conducting daily tasks * Provide personal care as and when required * Participate in the development of service users support plans, risk assessments and programmes * Accompany service users in activities and visits as and when required Skills/Experience required: * Previous experience of working within a care/support environment * Excellent communication skills (written and oral) * Good IT skills * A full UK driving licence and car is advantageous * Good time management * Ability to prioritise own workload * Patience and resilience Benefits include: * 9.22 per hour + 1 on weekends/bank holidays * Excellent training and support with the opportunity to gain professional qualifications * Group life assurance * Eye voucher scheme * Long service and staff awards * The possibility of over time Please email your CV to css.recruitment@thedtgroup.org to apply.
