Job Description

We are looking for highly motivated members of staff to join an experienced friendly team here on Cove Ward , Longfox Unit in Weston super mare. We are very much focussed on improving standards of care and developing the in patient service in conjunction with the existing wider service and Multi-Disciplinary team. The Longfox Site is situated next to the Grounds of Weston General Hospital, offering care to service users with a serious mental illness who are in crisis. * Cove Ward is an older peoples ward which is 10 bedded and is a ward for people with mental health problems who may have physical frailties. However, due to Covid19 pandemic the ward is currently set up as an admissions ward screening people for Covid19. The current maximum length of stay is 14 days if negative to Covid19. This is a very challenging time for all concerned so please feel free to get in contact to discuss further and/or to have a look around. We work alongside an intensive support team who are based on site and also the Later life Community team based at Windmill House in Clevedon. We have a very good working relationship with both of these to optimise the service user's care pathway. We have an established culture of inter team working which offers people who work on the site diverse experience and learning opportunities. We are also very proud of our service user involvement in the development of our services. We have a service user involvement worker who promotes involvement at every level of our service provision. The candidates must have an interest in working in care and enthusiastic to maintain and improve quality and standards. We are part of Avon and Wiltshire Mental health partnership NHS trust which is the largest mental health trust in Britain. Within North Somerset and the wider area there is excellent opportunity for career progression in all mental health fields within the trust. Weston Super Mare is in North Somerset and is situated along the M5. It is a short commute to Bristol, one of Britain's most vibrant and diverse cities and has excellent transport links to it and the surrounding areas. It is also a short Journey to some of the country's most sought after tourist spots in the South West.
