Job Description

Based in the Pharmacy Department at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, this is an excellent opportunity to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to become a fully qualified Pharmacy Technician. We are looking for outstanding applicants with a high degree of enthusiasm, flexibility and the commitment to train and study to become a registered Pharmacy Technician. Applications are invited from hardworking, self-motivated candidates with good written and verbal communication skills. Previous pharmacy or customer service experience would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided. This is a two year fixed term apprenticeship which includes day release (online remote learning) with Bradford College, and working in the hospital covering all aspects of hospital pharmacy including: Labelling, dispensing and checking a variety of prescriptions Aseptic services Ordering, receiving and maintaining stock Providing excellent customer care and maintaining confidentiality while dealing with patients and staff Working with patients on wards to ensure safe medicines use The course leads to a Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians. This is a nationally recognised qualification, which on completion will allow you to register as a Pharmacy Technician.
