Job Introduction At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with mental health issues and/or autism, they may also have other needs such as substance misuse. As a Team Manager, you'll make a real difference to their lives as you work closely with them to help them achieve their potential. Aldbanks is a brand new home in Dunstable that provides the transition or the next step to becoming more independent and to be able to live in their community. You will need to be passionate about people; you'll enjoy the scope and support individuals to gain the skills to live independently. With an emphasis on key working, you'll need to work flexibly and to be responsible for the day to day running of the service. Role Responsibility Raising the bar for person-centred care, you'll provide a range of recovery focused support through key working sessions and group work. People's lives will be truly changed by you as you enable and prepare them to gain new skills and help them find ways to promote their long term recovery and to further their own independence and skills to live in their own community. As one of our management team, you'll enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life too, as you benefit from an exceptional level of internal and external training as well as a highly supportive management team. Building on your experience of working with people with mental health and/or learning disabilities, you'll set, maintain and develop standards as part of our service. As manager, your focus will always be on ensuring the delivery of consistently high quality services - all within a challenging, but very rewarding environment. In this varied Team Manager role, you'll also carry out risk assessments, implement care plans and handle some operational management. As this is a brand new service you will be involved in the setting up and development of the home and putting the vision into reality. You will be leading and supporting a team of Recover Workers and Peer Mentors. Whilst this role is predominately off rota but you would be expected to work alongside the Recovery Worker's should the need arise. The Ideal Candidate Suitably qualified, with ideally with some managerial experience in the mental health sector or with people with learning disabilities, complex needs or autism, it's essential that you have a good understanding of the recovery model, together with a solution-focused attitude and a person-centred approach. You'll be equally comfortable getting things done on your own initiative and as part of a team, and have no problems working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to challenging situations. And of course, you'll be the sort of person who enjoys talking to people with different needs, is genuinely interested in helping them, and possesses a deep level of empathy, understanding and patience. The ability to meet financial and business targets and a track record of supporting and empowering people to live more independently in their community is necessary. Flexibility is essential, and ideally, you'll also have a full driving license and access to a car.
