Site Agent Civil Engineering Location - Birmingham (and surrounding area) "An exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Agent to join our team working on a portfolio of small to medium sized rail and civil engineering projects around the Midlands region including enabling works, civils, utilities and construction of new compounds in and around Birmingham" Business Unit A busy and fast paced project environment with an expansive portfolio of civils projects underway including line side rail civils contracts, bridges and structures renewals, large structural installations including new bridges and general civil schemes. Our Midlands region have now also secured the first of a portfolio of compound construction schemes to be delivered in the coming years in the West Midlands. The construction of these compounds will be in complex, high pressured environments and are set to involve all associated enabling works, civils, groundworks, construction, utilities diversions and installation etc. Regional projects for this team, can typically include bridge upgrades and refurbishments, station work, access for all schemes, structures including bridges and footbridges, line side civils, enabling works and general civil engineering projects. The Role As Site Agent you will be directly responsible for the daily management of various civil engineering and rail projects within our portfolio of work in the region. Day to day responsibilities would include: * Ensuring that the contract is executed in accordance with the requirements of: * All applicable legislation * The Terms and Conditions of the Contract * The Contract Health and Safety Plan * The Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets * The Contract Quality / Environmental Plan * Delivery of the contract within programme and budget. * Liaison with site staff and managing surveyor to ensure tender allowances are not exceeded. * The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met. * Ensuring that in conjunction with the site team changes to the contract are identified, agreed and effectively managed. * The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Contracts Manager. Requirements To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Site Agent in a civil engineering environment. * PTS / SMSTS * Degree / HNC or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role) * Experience as a Sub Agent or Site Agent in a civil engineering contracting environment The Company You will be joining a reputable and firmly established, engineering contractor operating nationally in rail, civils and engineering markets.
