About The Role Our Environment Advisory Team is a dynamic team that supports the business in delivering the highest standards of environmental performance. As Senior Environment Advisor, you`ll support Cadent's ambition to be the best Distribution network in Britain, through providing support and advice, tools and techniques that promote the integration of environment and sustainability into our business activities. You`ll will engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders from senior leadership team and field force teams to support the development of Cadent's strategy for environmental management and sustainability. Day to day the role will involve: -Providing specialist advice on environmental issues as required -Working with stakeholders across the business in the development of short, medium and long term business plans and targets to deliver continuous improvement and sustainable business outcomes -Leading employee and stakeholder engagement programmes to embed environmental sustainability initiatives delivering real benefits to Cadent and the communities we serve -Developing and supporting the delivery of training in sustainability and climate change and where necessary engage and manage external training providers -Developing human factors based approaches to improving environmental performance -Engaging with external peers to identify good practice, taking learning from these and adapting and applying to Cadent's circumstances as appropriate -Working collaboratively with communications teams to tell our environment and sustainability story to external stakeholders and employees About You You'll possess the following qualifications, skills, experience and attributes: -Knowledge of environmental, sustainability and climate change legislation, coupled with relevant industry experience -Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability and confidence to communicate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation -Strong team worker with effective people management skills, committed to stakeholder satisfaction and performance improvement -Ability influence across diverse audiences and lead by example. - Be resilient, with the confidence and courage to challenge behaviours and issues Desirable experience -Experience supporting or leading incident investigation including root cause analysis -Skills and experience in organising complex data into clear and compelling messages -Ability to use judgement in decision making where information may be incomplete -Broad appreciation of Cadent's business and how sustainability can help to achieve its objectives Qualifications -A degree in a relevant field would be an asset -Ideally technical or professional qualifications such as NEBOSH or IEMA or equivalent practical experience Benefits At Cadent we've got a whole host of standard and flexible benefits.
