For more on Wheelabrator, please visit www.wtienergy.co.uk Summary Working as part of the Operations team, the jobholder will be responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operaztion of the facility, ensuring day to day compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Permit, Health & Safety Regulations and operational procedures. This role is worked on a rotating shift pattern (including weekends and Bank Holidays) with a requirement to work overtime or emergency call-out in order to meet operational demands. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for operations within their work area to ensure the facility is operated and maintained in a safe, clean and efficient manner. * Ensures the plant is operated within design limits at all times. * Maintains Company policies and procedures, health and safety and environmental compliance. * Authorised within the Wheelabrator 'Safe System of Work' to ensure the safety of persons at all times. * Performs administrative duties, including but not limited to, attending and participating in performance appraisals, completing near miss forms, accident and equipment damage reports, filling out of timesheets, holiday and absence forms, waste inspection reports, vehicle check sheets. * Reports work requests and defects through their supervisor for input into the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). * Makes frequent rounds of their designated work areas to ensure proper operation of equipment, materials storage and handling, facility security, cleanliness, safety, and environmental compliance. * Decisively and effectively directs personnel during all situations. * Fosters and promotes a culture of teamwork * Ensures that the facility and all personnel operate safely at all times and promotes an environment whereby safety is a priority. * Anticipates typical problems, identifies potential or recurring problems, and takes appropriate action. * Operates equipment including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, skid steer type loaders, loading shovels, overhead cranes and other mobile equipment. * Promptly reports any accidents or near misses in conjunction with management team to ensure that any unsafe practices or conditions are addressed and eliminated immediately. * Supervise the operation and running of, the tipping hall, ash hall and loading, urea off loading, activated carbon off loading, diesel oil loading, lime off loading, APCR loading, bulk chemical off loading, crane driving and weighbridge. Ensuring that safe operating procedures are adhered to at all times. * Operate the site weighbridges, ensuring that waste delivery notes, consignment notes and other paperwork are correct. * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications desirable to perform the job. * Certificate in, Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), * Experience and certification of operating mobile plant.
