Job Description The Point of Entry Screener will perform temperature screening at client facilities on personnel to identify persons who may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus and in order to minimize the risk of spreading the virus. All Point of Entry Screeners involved in personnel screening for COVID-19 will be given full training in: * Infection Control Series e-Learning * Hand Hygiene * Temperature Assessment Duties and Responsibilities * Explain to all personnel the purpose of the screening. * Ensure the right to privacy and confidentiality of anyone identified as a suspected case are maintained. * Should a person be identified by the screening assessment to be a suspected case, they should be asked to leave the facility * Ensure screening area is set up with clinical waste bags, patient information, as per addendum. * Wash hands thoroughly before donning required PPE. * Implement full infection control precautions * Maintaining safe distance between individuals in line for screening * Safely dispose of all disposable PPE including single use items such as gloves, * Hands should be sanitized before replacement gloves are put on. * Operation of a laser thermometer ensuring this is disinfected after every use * Ensure the workspace is tidied and all clinical waste is sealed in doubled clinical waste bags and secured with identity tag. * Manage all the clinical waste and ensure it is disposed of safely Qualifications * A calm and professional manner * Strong verbal communications skills * Comfortable using clinical diagnostic equipment (following training) * Ability to travel to client locations in and around Aberdeen * Experience working in a clinical environment (desirable but not essential) Given that this role has been created to respond to the threat posed by Covid-19 is essential that applicants are in good health, don't have any respiratory conditions and are willing to submit to regular medical screening during their employment. Additional Information This is a temporary position that may involve working at numerous client facilities across Glasgow & Falkirk. Full training and all personal protective equipment will be provided before screening begins. We are happy to consider applications from individuals looking for flexible working arrangements as shifts may be up to 12 hours long in some cases.
