IT Application & Service Manager - O365, SharePoint - Corby An exciting new Application Manager role has been created for a global manufacturing giant that is growing its Northants base. Our client is looking for a strong-willed candidate to provide leadership and enforce policy consistency across the UK's IT function. Whilst you will mainly be based at the HQ in Corby, there will also be some travel to the company's base in Hemel Hempstead. The company has around 80 staff based in the UK across two sites, with around 13,000 globally. Your role will manage the operations in the UK and Ireland and you will have one direct report who looks after the 1st and 2nd line issues, desktop support, equipment purchasing etc. Whilst this is a UK & Ireland position there will be scope for more work in the European offices in the future. This is a newly created role due to internal promotion. This focus of this role is managing our client's applications estate, both off-the-shelf and bespoke. A key project in 2020 is the migration to O365 and SharePoint Online. For success in this role you must know the O365 estate in-side-out as you will be an advocate for the Office applications in the business. You will be responsible for not only supporting the system but also educating both management and end users on best practice, work flow creation and explaining to the business the value and potential of the software. In addition to the support and ownership of the O356 applications and SharePoint Online you will also be managing a core bespoke application that our client has developed in-house which manages the delivery of the products they manufacture. Again it will be your responsibility to be a 'super user' and be able to ultimately makes suggestions and recommend changes to ever improve the application. This is a core application that has also in some cases been integrated to their customer's systems. This is a really varied role where you might be tackling a technical issue one day to sitting in a board meeting of 12 people to the next... a truly varied and often high pressured role but a really rewarding one where you will be given autonomy tomake *real* changes. Main responsibilities: * Definition and leadership of local IT service. * Manage a team of 1 direct report (who looks after the desktops and phones) * Help manage the future migration to Office365 * Help oversea File Server to SharePoint Online migration * Total ownership of the O365 and SharePoint estates * Management of the bespoke ERP goods distribution application * Business advocate/educator/adoption encourager of O365 and SharePoint across the business * New starter IT onboarding/offboarding and collaboration for best practice from other European sites * It would be advantageous to have PowerBI and/or SQL as the business is consolidating their reporting to PowerBI * Develop a business case for IT investments to drive future business improvements. * Recommend improvement opportunities regarding existing IT processes. * Review and management of 3rdparty service agreements. * Plan annual CapEx budget * Management, leadership and appraisal of UK IT staff to direct and develop operations. * Provide hands on support and incident management for efficient service operations. * Provide IT training for internal stakeholders to enable daily business use of technology. * Adopt and implement central applications to support global operational requirements. * Monitor user backup operations to ensure successful operation and data protection. * Management & responsibility for local telephony infrastructure. Job requirements, complexity, and challenges: * Minimum 3 years in an IT support/applications environment. * An understanding of data protection and security principles * Flexibility for travel when required * Ability to think broader than pure technology and how technology can influence business processes. * Conformity to the ISO27001 accreditation regarding data protection and security. * Full responsibility for analysis, design and implementation of identified solutions.
