Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a positive and enthusiastic Senior Children's Support Worker who is flexible and has a desire to make a difference to help and support young people, promote their value and enable them to make life enhancing choices. You will work with Children and Young people aged 6-18 years in a Residential Home you will assist in leading, motivating and supporting a team of residential childcare practitioners. Senior Children's Support Worker Duties and Responsibilities: * Provide a caring, supportive and nurturing environment in which children/young people can feel secure and free from harm. * Implement personal care plans set out for Children and young people * Work alongside the homes psychologist to bring into practice a Therapeutic approach in dealing with any child regardless of age * Ensure that each member of staff is aware of each child's care plan and their responsibilities for its implementation. * Chair children's meetings and facilitating consultation with young people throughout all their care need * Participate in reviews and other meetings as required and ensure LAC documentation is up to date and changed when appropriate i.e. after a statutory review * Take shared responsibility and accountability for the administration of all medication prescribed for the young people * Work in partnership with all individuals involved in a young person life to help improve their life chances and outcomes * Lead shifts, ensuring appropriate handovers take place, and be responsible for the deployment of staff on duty to ensure that the work required in the home is undertaken Requirements * Aged 23 or over * Full driving licence * Able to work on a shift pattern which includes sleep-ins * Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent * Minimum of 1 year of experience working at a senior level with children in care * Experience of case managing young people, delegating and problem solving * Knowledge of the Quality Standards for children's homes Benefits Salary: 20,280 to 21,320 + sleep-in allowance = 45 per sleep-in (2 sleep-in's a week) Closing date : Friday 15th November 2019 Interview: ASAP Contact : Amandeep at Job Paths 4 U Job Paths 4 U is an Employment Agency and an Employment Business.
