Job Description

The Division is seeking to appoint a senior health economist with a proven track record in the design and use of decision-analytic modelling for the economic evaluation of health care interventions to the Manchester Centre for Health Economics and lead the strategic direction and implementation of research programmes and projects. The appointed health economist will contribute to implementing a research programme of work and one specific project, in the first instance, and lead the development of a programme of work in the economics of cancer precision medicine. The research programme involves evaluating interventions to improve medicines safety and the specific project is evaluating the use of risk-based algorithms to inform the use of health care interventions (cardiovascular disease and osteoporotic fracture). The successful candidate is expected to work with a large research team including health economists, clinicians, molecular scientists, biostatisticians, informaticians. You will be primarily based in the Manchester Centre for Health Economics. You will be line-managed by Rachel Elliott, Professor of Health Economics and work closely with Katherine Payne, Professor of Health Economics.
