We manufacture a wide range of sports nutrition and cosmetic consumer goods that we then despatch to our customers in over 200 countries worldwide from our purpose built, innovative Manufacturing and Distribution Centres. THG is looking to recruit a Formulation Chemist for Vitamin Tablets, Capsules and Supplements. The primary objective of the role is to enable us to develop and produce Vitamin Tablets, Capsules and Supplements. Main Responsibilities As a formulation chemist you will be required to; * Initiate the development process on new products;Develop/reformulate robust quality formulas * Lead the product development from lab to scale up. * Perform variety of laboratory tests including stability and compatibility. * Evaluate product properties through instrumental and other appropriate testing. * Review materials and finished goods to determine chemical and physical properties. * Create and/or review and approve technical documents to support developmental projects (i.e. ingredient statements, manufacturing formula card, cost formulas). * Develop manufacturing processes for development projects * Develop specifications for new and/or reformulated products * Source and approve new and/or alternate raw materials. You may also be required to coordinate the development of Vitamin Tablets, Capsules and Supplements products with co-manufacturers. Where you are working with Third parties you will be required to; * Ensure they meet the team's expectations relating to performance, quality and safety. * Lead the development process from briefing, formulation approvals, assisting with raw material and new technology research. * Coordinate all testing, support with the substantiation of product claims and maintain adverse event reporting processes. Requirements To be considered for this role you should have * Degree level qualification in Chemistry, Food Science, Pharmacology or other relevant scientific discipline. (essential) * At least 3 years' experience in product formulations / process development / engineering for Tablets, Capsules and Supplements; * Must have experience with laboratory equipment through laboratory experience. * Must have experience of working in a manufacturing environment * Strong data management skills, included expertise searching and establishing Excel databases. * Strong attention to detail * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Self-motivated and enthusiastic Benefits What We Offer * Competitive salary * Onsite Doctor * Employee discounts * Company bonus scheme * Company pension scheme
