Role: Head of Pursuits Location: London ROLE MISSION As the Head of Pursuits, you will build the function working shoulder-to-shoulder with sales teams, to win new business and retain/extend our existing client relationships. ABOUT THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING You'll be working with the New Business / Sales team, Marketing Director, Solution Strategist, Project Management, Creative teams, Account Leads, Business Leaders and various Subject Matter Experts. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE * Aggregate primary and secondary research as well as information from the prospect itself to build the most compelling story * Provide challenge to expert assumptions/contributions and work with them to optimise * Ensure that propositions sent to clients are focused on the individual needs, are differentiated from others in the marketplace, and of high quality * Have involvement and influence over the entire sales lifecycle of the largest opportunities, alongside the Sales Leads, rather than just the RFP element. * Responsible for marshaling other Oliver resources for the benefit of the pursuit, such as copy-writers, project managers and designers, ensuring that each team member is focused in the right area and the right tasks at the right time * Manage pursuit budgets and report to the leadership regularly with updates on the portfolio of pursuits, requesting additional resources when necessary WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL * At least ten years' experience in planning pursuits, coordinating teams and influencing colleagues * Commercial acumen to understand what is/isn't in the agency's best interests and how that may affect the bid/no bid decision. To apply to how we structure our responses and our understanding of the client requirements * Track record of "adding Step Change Revenue Growth, sustainable bottom-line value or strong Return on Investment to brands". * Strategic thinker; able to put themselves in the clients' shoes and apply our services to their needs * You will need to understand the difference between a feature and a benefit - and be able to succinctly summarise benefits according to the needs of each client * The ability to drive the momentum of the pursuit and lead all members of the pursuit team to make certain that deliverables are met, duties are shared appropriately and enthusiasm ABOUT OUR COMPANY Lots of agencies say they're different.
