Job Description
The Microbiology department currently has a vacancy for a laboratory assistant. We are looking for a friendly and cheerful person, who is practical and has an interest in science. This is not a trainee Biomedical Scientist position and is highly unlikely to lead to one. The role involves various duties rotating between the bacteriology laboratory, the office and media preparation/waste disposal sections of the department. The laboratory is a purpose built facility (opened 2007) and located on the Maidstone Hospital site. The role is full time 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:30 hrs Participation in weekend and Bank holiday shifts will be expected. These are currently worked outside of contracted hours.
