Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Chemistry Services Manager to join our Scientific Services Team. Reporting to the Scientific Services Manager, this role will play a leading part in providing expert advice on chemical food safety to Manufacturing, NPD, Procurement and Quality, and supporting a food safety culture change in the business. As Chemistry Services Manager, your main responsibilities will include leading the full array of chemistry-based contaminant, quality and nutritional risk assessments, and managing surveillance testing programmes driven by these risk assessments to ensure compliance with regulations and specifications. Youll manage the daily operation of chemistry services - developing, validating, troubleshooting and conducting complex chemical analyses required to support the business. Managing a team of a Chemical Analyst and 2 Technicians, youll work closely with the Scientific Services team, deputising for the Scientific Services Manager when required. Requirements Ideally, you will have a strong science background, line management experience and a desire to develop further in the field of chemistry-based food safety, laboratory management and developing and validating industry standard chemistry methods. The role will be based at Burton Latimer but will cover raw materials and products produced at all Weetabix manufacturing sites in the UK, (Burton Latimer, Corby and Ryecroft).
