Job Description

Barts Health is the largest NHS organisation in England, and our hospitals cover large areas of East London. Our hospitals are St Bartholomew (SBH) in the City of London, The Royal London Hospital (RLH) in Whitechapel, The London Chest Hospital in Bethnal Green, Mile End Hospital, Newham University Hospital (NUH) near Plaistow and Whipps Cross Hospital (WXH) in Leytonstone. Essential service laboratories are located at SBH, NUH and WXH. Primary care services and specialist clinical chemistry activities are consolidated at RLH. All laboratories are equipped with Cobas 8000 (Roche diagnostics ). Used in conjunction with stand-alone pre and post analytical systems, p471and p621 (Roche diagnostics ). The laboratory at the RLH is currently undergoing refurbishment to facilitate the introduction of integrated automated workflow systems, c8100 and p701 (Roche diagnostics ). The specialist clinical chemistry work areas are equipped with D-100 (Biorad Laboratories), Ultimate 3000 ( Thermo Scientific ), Acquity UPLC ( Waters ), Capillarys ( Sebia ), Hydrasys ( Sebia ) and SPA plus ( Binding site ). We are looking for a strong team player with a positive attitude to working in a flexible manner, committed to supporting the clinical services of the Trust and meeting the needs of our patients by participating in the extended day, weekend, bank holiday rosters. This Quality Manager post will be a pivotal member of the Clinical Biochemistry management team and contribute to the development and achievement of the strategic aims and objectives of the Clinical Biochemistry department. The successful Band 7 candidate MUST be registered with the HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist AND hold the following * CPSM Log book ( Clinical Biochemistry ) if qualified before 2003. OR * Registration portfolio IBMS ( Clinical Biochemistry 2003 to 2004 ) and Diploma in Biomedical Science IBMS ( Blood Sciences 2005 ). OR * Specialist Diploma IBMS ( Clinical Biochemistry 2005 onwards) * Holder of an IBMS Higher Specialist portfolio. OR * MSc or IBMS Fellowship in Clinical Biochemistry.
