Maven is a proprietary trading organisation formed in 2011. We employ the most talented traders, developers and engineers in the market, executing a diverse range of strategies across global equities and derivatives. Our Proprietary Trading Group executes a range of diversified strategies globally, seeking substantial returns on the invested capital. Our ambition is to maintain our position as a market leading multi-strategy trading desk, comprising of exceptional talent with specialist skill sets and sustainable alpha. The Role: The London office is looking for a European equities sector-focused Portfolio Manager to join the investment team. The candidate must be a specialist, with a deep understanding of the companies from which they will construct their portfolio. The candidate is expected to be accountable for carrying out the primary research underpinning the strategy as well as implementing trading ideas. Requirements: * Fundamental European equities sector specialist with a defined universe of stocks * Clearly established, well diversified and scalable trading strategies * Quantitative and fundamental modelling of the metrics applicable to the companies in the investment universe * Active engagement with the corporate and research community * Sound risk management practices dynamically linked to the exposure and volatility of the portfolio * Processes in place to monitor and react to macro, corporate and earnings events * Self-starting mindset with a willingness to continually enhance the trading strategy and tools being utilised * Minimum 3 years' experience running capital with a track record available * Sharpe target in excess of 1.5
