The Quality Manager reports to directly to the Plant Manager with a strong dotted line to the Regional Quality Lead EIMEA and Global HHC Quality Lead and has primary responsibility for quality control and quality assurance. NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES SUPERVISED: 2 PRIMARY DUTIES ENSURE THAT ALL EMPLOYEES ARE WORKING TO COMPLY WITH ALL H.B.FULLER POLICIES ENSURING COMPLIANCES WITH APPROPRIATE LAWS AND REGULATIONS COORDINATES THE ACTIVITY OF THE QUALITY CONTROL LAB o Ensure the quality team is sufficiently qualified and trained o Ensure all customer requirements are met (In specification, COA requirements, etc..) o Coordinate with R&D in order to set a specification for new products & improve our process control continuously LEADING THE QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND DRIVE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT • Quality representative for both operations & sales within the facility. • Coordinate the management review. • Structure the Quality System ensuring it is in line with the European guidelines and any external certifications (ISO 9001, ISO14001) or specific customer requirements in order to gain and maintain marketing edge. • Coordinate internal functions ,communicating, train and implementing quality initiatives. • Promote and support the over-all improvement of all processes and departments through internal quality system audits. • Lead , Coach and Train an internal cross functional audit team. • Ensure that the quality management system is followed consistently and support all functions to ensure the system is up to date and are actual practice. RESPONSIBLE TO MONITOR AND COORDINATE ACTIVITIES ON A SITE LEVEL, ENSURING QUALITY ,SERVICE LEVELS TARGETS ARE MET, LEADING CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES • Drive productivity and process improvements in our Dukinfield manufacturing facility. Be the "go-to" expert for process manufacturing for Water based, Polymers and Hot Melt PSA's. • Responsible for timely response/resolution to quality complaints, troubleshooting manufacturing problems and internal complaints/alerts. • Lead root cause analysis, coordinating corrective/preventative actions for customer complaints, internal non conformance's and alerts and also driving continuous improvement initiatives on site in order to deliver year over year improvements in quality, productivity and yield. Apply innovative thinking, sound engineering principles and continuous improvement tools and methodologies, including Lean Six sigma principles, to deliver step change results. • Ensure supplier complaints are raised and answered in a timely way. • Carry out supplier audits when necessary. • Define and coordinate the implementation and verification of the effectiveness of corrective and preventative measures. • Lead new product introduction/scale-up and raw material acquisition, as well as product transfers from and to other sites.
