Job Description

To support the Legal Team in providing day-to-day support across the business on various legal, insurance, procurement and administrative matters. The ideal candidate must have strong emotional intelligence to work within a business from varied nationalities and be able to support the Legal Counsel by being teachable and hard-working. Key Success Measures Safety, support the implementation of the Colas Rail Limited Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) strategy, associated actions and resulting initiatives, to deliver continuous improvement in all areas. Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability Supporting the Legal Team in addressing the legal needs of the business across a spectrum of legal areas including corporate, commercial, competition, procurement, insurance and construction. * Procurement support. * Proofreading and updating documents, using initiative to flag queries. * Supporting the Legal Operations and Insurance Manager regarding insurance activities. * Photocopying and filing. * Preparation of legal documents as required. * Assisting the Legal Counsel on the drafting of letters and other basic documentation. * Undertaking legal research tasks. Specification Technical Skills * Previous experience in a similar position and proven track record of ability to manage own workload. * Personable and confident, able to build relationships with directors/ key stakeholders. * Resilient and calm under pressure. * Adaptable and flexible approach. * Pro-active and takes initiative. * Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise to work to deadlines. * Resilient and calm under pressure. * Excellent attention to detail. * Effective oral and written communication. * Good IT skills: thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Teams. * Experience of the infrastructure sector being advantageous. * Previous experience of insurance and/or procurement advantageous. Qualifications * Law Degree / LPC / CiLEX or similar.
