One team, working together Mid Essex Hospitals is part of the new Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. Working with Basildon and Southend Hospitals we form one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country serving a population of 1.2 million people in central and south Essex. The pharmacy department is led by a Group Chief Pharmacist and has around 300 staff split across 3 sites. The pharmacy department has worked as a merged department for the past 3 years and has developed standardised systems across the 3 sites, re-designing new and on-going services as the clinical configuration changes. At Mid Essex, we are a county-wide plastics, head and neck and upper gastrointestinal (GI) surgical centre to a population of 3.4 million and home to the world-renowned supra-regional burns service at the St Andrew's Centre, serving a population of 9.8 million. We are looking for a proactive pharmacy technician to take on the exciting new role in IT and Informatics on the Mid Essex site. You must be an excellent communicator with outstanding IT skills who works well independently as well as within a team. The post holder will work closely with the clinical pharmacy teams on investigating and tracking medicine saving schemes as well producing a variety of reports both internal and external to the organisation. Electronic prescribing is firmly established on the Southend site and is currently being implemented at Basildon Hospital. As part of this role you will be involved in the introduction and roll out of electronic prescribing on the Mid Essex site.
