Overview

BAE Systems Applied Intelligence Laboratories is seeking to recruit a Group Leader for the Experimental Cyber Research Group at Great Baddow. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who is able to lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists to deliver experimental cyber research for a wide variety of clients (government, commercial and defence). In this role, we are particularly seeking applicants with a track record of delivering cyber research in the domains of: • Trusted computing (Trusted execution environments, Cryptographic protection, Design, development and experimentation of prototype solutions merging hardware and software solutions to enable cyber resilience, Blockchain including crypto currency mining • Specialised Security Testing & Research( Penetration testing and OC research, Reverse engineering and vulnerability analysis, Security assessment and testing of unconventional systems, Design, development and experimentation of innovative cyber security testing tools.) As Cyber Group Leader you will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, innovative bids, delivery of projects to quality, time and budget and the career management of scientific and engineering staff in the cyber research domain. You will also set the strategic direction for research within the group and have the opportunity to grow the team and work with Academics and SMEs at the forefront of cyber research in the UK. Specific requirements for the Cyber Group Lead include: Essential: - SC Cleared UK National - Understanding of key cyber technologies and their application to Cyber Defence and Situational Awareness - Understanding of current Cyber state of the art within UK Government and Defence - Systems engineering understanding necessary to decompose complex systems - The ability to undertake technology development and develop concept demonstrators on behalf of customers - Experience of requirement definition from multiple conflicting sources - Ability to present research and provide project reports to a range of senior stakeholders Desirable: - DV or ability to obtain Typical Group Lead Responsibilities include: - Lead a team of engineers to execute projects for customers, ensuring that we deliver on our commitments to customers - Development of new business opportunities and timely generation of high quality, well planned and innovative bids - Development of the strategy for the cyber group in line with the wider BAE strategy - Develop and maintain key business relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers and external institutions - Promote the technical excellence through generation of patents, Chairman's awards and external publicity in scientific journals, conferences and events. Knowledge, Skills and Experience required: - Solid grounding in engineering with typically over 10 years' experience in a technology based environment, managing project teams working on complex, multi-disciplinary projects - Member of a relevant professional body - Able to assess and understand the impact of emerging technologies and competitors to achieve business advantage - Excellent planning and organisational skills, with a strong drive for high performance and delivery - Ability to work with customers or other stakeholders to capture requirements and highlight the risks and opportunities in a plan About BAE Systems Applied Intelligence We use our intelligence-led insights to help defend Governments, Nations and Societies from cyber-attacks and financial crime.
