Job Description
HSE Site Leader Description Closing date: 4thJuly 2020 We are looking for an experienced HSE Manager to lead our brand new Logistics Centre in Daventry. Cummins is currently building a 43,000 sq ft. Warehouse that will supply materials to all of our UK manufacturing plants. This site will be the first of its kind within Cummins across all regions, and it will be the flagship site for HSE on a global scale. There is a significant investment in the facility, so your advanced HSE expertise will be integral during the build phase, and once the site is fully operational. You will have the opportunity to put your stamp on your role, as well as collaborate with the global HSE team, giving you excellent exposure to a large, international business. Your impact will be seen in these and other ways: During the build phase; + Assist in the design of the warehouse layout, considering key HSE factors such as workstations, working at height regulations, pedestrian safety, Hazardous Substances, etc. + Develop and implement an H&S Management System, providing a framework to ensure legislation compliance, with a focus on effectiveness and efficiency. + Develop and implement an Environmental Systems Management System to promote continuous improvement, achieving group environmental initiatives to minimize the site's environmental impact. + Design processes to control Hazardous Substances following legal compliance (COSHH, DSEAR, REACH, ADR, etc.) Once operational; + Develop and foster a positive HSE culture. Instill fundamental values with everyone on-site - focusing on achieving a zero-incident environment. + Leads continuous improvement initiatives to achieve and sustain world-class HSE performance. + Lead HSEMS Management Reviews with site leadership. + Develop intricate hazard control designs, methods, procedures, and programs. + Anticipate, identify, and evaluates hazardous safety conditions and environmental risks. + Interpret and apply internal and external standards in support of hazard and risk reduction and compliance. + Effectively manage the HSE team, setting and achieving KPI's and encouraging skills developments and progression. + Train employees and other applicable personnel on HSE procedures, practices, and controls. + Participates to cross-sites activities on requests (audits, etc.) Qualifications To be successful, you will need; + Significant experience leading HSE within a high-risk environment, such as warehousing, production, construction, etc. is required to be considered. + GradIOSH/ CMIOSH is preferred, or substantial experience in a similar role. + Previous experience managing a team, with a focus on professional development and KPI setting. + Existing knowledge of the following regulations' legislation is highly desirable; Working at Height, COSHH, Pedestrian, and Machinery Segregation. + To be an influential leader who can lead by example and motivate people to achieve critical targets by working smartly and collaboratively. + To be highly methodical, with a solution-led mindset. + To be an advocate for change and implement your ideas in how we can streamline processes and procedures.
