Job Description

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow in Anaesthesia for a 6 month fixed contract. The Anaesthetics department provides anaesthetic services for the following surgical specialities: General Surgery, Urology, Vascular, Plastics, Trauma and Orthopaedics, ENT, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Oral Surgery and Ophthalmology. The Critical Care Unit is a level 3 Adult 10 bedded unit and provides organ support for both medical and surgical patients. The Unit leads a very active Outreach service on a 24/7 cover. The department also covers A&E and is part of the resuscitation team and provides level 3 adult transfer services. Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a Teaching Hospital, linked to the London University and is also the Cancer Centre for South Essex which is part of the Essex Cancer network. This busy DGH serves a population of 338,800. We currently employ 4,528 wte staff with a total complement of 181 Consultant staff.
