Job Description
The Senior Director, Affiliate Finance will contribute to the execution of managing all aspects of Financial Planning and Analysis for the UK/Ireland affiliate. You will interact with the global finance organization to execute key priorities and ensuring consistency and quality, across the affiliate. To be successful, the candidate has to demonstrate strong conceptual and strategic thinking, high attention to detail, as well as strong communication skills.He or She will be managing and executing all aspects of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) for the UK/Ireland affiliate, business reporting, forecast accuracy and Quality KPI's, actuals reporting and analysis for US GAAP and UK/Ireland statutory accounting including R&D activities. Furthermore you will be overseeing annual operating plan and Long range Strategic Financial Trajectory plan. As a member of the Affiliate Leadership and Maidenhead site Leadership Teams, you will ensure compliance with local and Corporate regulations/policies, and management of finance, decision support, facility management and matrix management for Treasury. He or she will interact with the global finance organization to execute key priorities. Primary Responsibilities 1. Provide strategic financial support to the organization Provide rigorous and incisive analysis of revenue and its components, margins/ratios and profit/contribution to drive improved performance Review and oversee the coordination of sales and orders forecasting and reporting Monitor ongoing business performance against budgets/forecasts/KPI's. Report on reasons for variances, advising local management on any appropriate action Review and input on new investment proposals. Assist in the development of business cases, and coordinate with global finance to obtain approvals Work with external stakeholders 2. Compliance with rules and regulations Ensure that all procedures are in compliance with Corporate policies, local laws, US accounting practices and the Sarbannes-Oxley Act, as well as UK/Ireland statutory accounting principles, fiscal rules and payroll Manage communication with external and internal auditors, statutory fiscal & accounting authorities, as well as with legal advisors; update affiliate and corporate management on changes in UK/Ireland financial practices Ensure implementation and maintenance of reporting systems in line with EFPIA requirements as well as ABPI / IPHA requirements. Member of the Governance and Quality Committee 3. FP&A management Oversee all aspects of financial and resource planning, including the development of long range plans, annual budgets, and quarterly forecasts through close coordination with local management and international finance teams Lead in-depth monthly and quarterly financial reviews, highlighting key issues and insights for local and international management consideration Lead financial reviews and play a key role in other business reviews and Annual Operating Plan Understand patient trends, derive supply needs and manage demand planning 4. Leadership Team, Local processes and continuous improvement Active member of Affiliate Leadership Team advising on affiliate business and performance, Maidenhead site leadership member and contributing to identifying organizational opportunities and effectively addressing issues Maintain contract management and negotiate critical contracts with key suppliers Work with HR team to ensure that local benefits are providing value for money as well as a competitive advantage Head up facilities management, including employees security, working conditions and office organization Ensure a Continuous improvement mindset, to look for opportunities to improve and modernize the finance function 5. People management Recruit and develop a high functioning team. Ensure adherence to corporate values and behaviors. Provide and encourage feedback Develop and promote talents, organize succession planning and ensure that all members have a meaningful development plan Minimum of 10 years of US GAAP experience with at least 5 years as a controller or similar Experience as a Head of Finance of a biotech/ pharmaceutical affiliate Knowledge of and experience with UK Healthcare Environment preferred Proficient in English Experience at working in a multinational environment Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Previous Audit Experience at a managerial level at one of the large Accounting Firms Oversight and leadership of a multi-functional team CA/CPA/ACCA, MBA or similar, strong accounting and commercial finance background Employment Type: Full-Time_Regular
