Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for experienced and motivated technically skilled, customer-facing Solutions Architects. Modern computing practices have a wide impact on the architecture of systems and business practices, and cloud computing is at the center of this transformation. You will help customers craft secure, flexible and resilient solutions, leveraging the latest cloud technologies. You will help them understand best practices, design and implement software architectures that are scalable and cost-effective. You will keep your technical skills honed and develop new ones so that you can make substantial contributions to in-depth architecture discussions. You will regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create state-of-the-art software solutions built on AWS. The successful candidate will have proven expertise in a hands-on technical role, building, delivering or operating platforms in the retail sector. They will also have a deep understanding of cloud computing in general, which they will be able to translate into business value for customers. The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams, liaising with business stakeholders, and have developed a deep understanding of successful IT practices. They will have experience building, deploying, and maintaining software solutions, preferably on a cloud platform such as AWS. Specialist Solutions Architects are industry experts in their field, focused on providing state-of-the art solutions and practices to customers and the entire AWS field organization. From deep technical architecture to strategic company-wide process and practices definition, they are involved in the most complex and strategic environments of AWS' most demanding customers. They are community leaders internally within AWS and thought leaders in the AWS ecosystem. The Industry Specialist SA team aligns with our customer segments, defining solutions that are adapted to the requirements of these specific industries, and leading the art of the possible in AWS architectures. As the role will cover EMEA the ideal candidate can be located in other countries across Europe, ideally; Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy, France.
