Job Description

Title: Digital Editor Number of Positions: 1 Job Summary: We're looking for a talented individual to join our digital editorial team as a Digital Editor on a 12-month fixed-term contract. AutoReqId: 846BR Duration: 12 months Additional info: The digital editorial team looks after the content on Wellcome Collection's website. We publish Stories: regular feature journalism that explores human health and experience from a wide variety of live experiences. We also look after the website and social content that helps everyone from visitors to researchers discover and use our venue. We're part of the Digital Engagement department that's in the process of revolutionising digital access to our collections and centralising our digital activities onto a single website. We are looking for someone with experience in commissioning and editing journalistic content, the ability to generate and assess ideas and translate them into deliverable content. You'll have a curiosity about the intersections between art, humanity and health, and a grasp of what good storytelling is. You'll also be familiar with the basics of digital content strategy and design and collaborative practices like pair-writing. The successful candidate will join our team to ensure the regular publication and delivery of digital content, as Wellcome Collection enters a post-lockdown period of transition towards reopening as a venue, and we reach a new understanding of what it means to engage with our growing digital audience.
