Job Description

Full-time Elective Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in Revision Knee Surgery for Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust We require a full-time Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in primary and revision lower limb arthroplasty surgery. The successful candidate will work predominantly on the City hospital campus / Nottingham Treatment Centre. The successful candidate will be required to join the 1 in 8 on call rota at City Hospital, with a minimum of a 10 PA job plan. The job plan is negotiable but will include one elective clinic and one consent clinic each week and two all day operating lists. The successful candidate must have significant experience of primary lower limb arthroplasty and revision knee surgery. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute significantly to the research output of the unit, and also to be involved in postgraduate and undergraduate medical education. The successful candidate will have also fellowship level training in elective hip and knee arthroplasty surgery. NUH is one of the UK's largest elective orthopaedic centres and is the tertiary referral centre for the East Midlands - the successful candidate must have extensive sub-specialty fellowship training as well as recent experience of complex orthopaedic hip and knee surgery including revision knee arthroplasty. NUH is also the hub for the East Midlands Specialist Orthopaedic Network and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the weekly MDT revision network as well as the complex revision knee surgery that the network supports.
