Job Description
Applications are invited to a full time Consultant Medical Microbiologist post at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. This is a new full-time Consultant Medical Microbiology post designed to support the provision of a high quality infection management service in Nottingham. The Microbiology Laboratory is based at the QMC Campus however clinical duties will be required at both QMC Campus and the City Hospital Campus. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the provision of a comprehensive clinical microbiology service, including laboratory duties, results authorisation and interpretation, clinical and antibiotic advice, patient consults, ward rounds and MDTs, antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention and control, clinical governance, teaching and training, and research. Applicants will be required to have full and specialist registration (and a licence to practise) with the GMC (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview). As well as the above, UK trained medical applicants should also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in medical microbiology, or within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
